Ireland is a country of pure beauty. We have mountains, forests, lakes and rivers all over the country. One of the most magnificent and accessible places close to Dublin City is Powerscourt Waterfall in Co. Wicklow.

Irelands highest waterfall at 398ft, it’s part of the Powerscourt estate but is situated 6 kilometres from the grounds right at the foot of the Wicklow mountains.
The grounds around and leading up to the waterfall are stunning, filled with Oak, Pine and Beech trees which are over 200 years old, there is also the famous Californian Giant Redwoods that are still in their infancy at the grounds.
The park surrounding the waterfall have loads of pleasant paths to explore, filled with wildlife like deer, red squirrels and cuckoo birds.

You can also bring a picnic or barbecue to the grounds to enjoy a day in the sun during summertime basking in its beauty.
If you are an avid walker or hiker, close by there is the car park for Crone woods which will lead you on two trails that stretch above Powerscourt estate. The first, Djouce mountain which is the higher and more challenging of the treks, and Maulin, which is still an enjoyable and challenging walk but not always as steep as Djouce.
Both treks will bring you on a path overlooking the Powerscourt waterfall give you fantastic views and photo opportunities provided only to those that work for it.
