History, Comedy and Guinness, oh my...

The International Bar on Wicklow Street is a Dublin institution for the craic and an excellent pint of Guinness. James Joyce even wrote about the International Bar in his classic, Ulysses.

About The International Bar

The International Bar has been at the same location since it opened its doors in 1886 and is one of the few remaining Victorian style pubs in Dublin.

It's home to Dublin's first comedy club, 'The Comedy Cellar' which launched in 1988 and features established and up and coming comedians every weekend. Comics like Ardal O'Hanlon, Tommy Tiernan and Des Bishop have all played here.

The Comedy Cellar has shows Monday to Sunday every week, and tickets cost from €5 to €10 for entry which you can pay at the door.

Music

You're sure to catch a traditional Irish musician sat down at the International with a pint of Guinness and a guitar cranking out some fantastic music which locals and tourists flock to see.

Food and Drink

If you're peckish for Irish grub, grab a bowl of the vegetable soup with Irish brown bread or some traditional Irish stew that will keep you nice and warm if you visit on a cold winters day.

The staff at the International are friendly Dubliners, are sure to have the chats and craic with you during your visit. It's an excellent pub for locals and tourists to experience. If in Dublin, be sure to visit The International Bar and you won't be disappointed.
