A fun day out at K2 Alpacas waits you...
Being able to put a big smile on your families faces is a wonderful thing, and nothing creates big smiles more than spending some up-close and personal time with animals!

One of our cutest four-legged friends are not always dogs, lets not forget the very unique South American Alpaca. They're not a common sight in Ireland but K2 Alpacas lets you meet these lovely creatures up close, and even better, bring them for a walk. They are friendly and curious so they make a great companion for a trek.
If you are not familiar with Alpacas, they are a type of Camelid, very similar to a Lama but noticeably smaller. A herd animal, they love to spend time together and normally would live above 3500 m. They are normally bred for their fibre which is very similar to Sheep’s wool.

Alpaca Trekking with K2 Alpacas is simply the most unique activity you are likely to experience and certainly one of the most memorable and enjoyable. Alpaca Trekking is a fun activity, and one suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
The Treks normally take place every Saturday and Sunday at 10 am and 2 pm at the K2 Alpaca farm in Newtownmountkennedy (yes this is possibly the longest name ever) in Co. Wicklow. It normally take around 2 hours and it covers around 2 to 3 kilometres. Alpacas are generally quite slow walkers, so it is great for all fitness levels.

You are required to book in advance as they do not do walk in Treks. You can book in advance through their website below.
