About The Wall in Sandyford

When I first brought my own daughter to The Wall her jaw dropped when she seen the possible adventures before her. Whenever we go to a park she just want to climb up trees and my heart tends to race when I see what she could land on if she fell. This is why I love The Wall, safe, fun and carefree.

At 'The Wall' in Sandyford, Dublin 18, the first thing that puts every parents mind at rest is the massive soft floor that the kids will land on if they do happen to fall so it naturally gives you piece of mind. And it's not just for kids, if you like a challenge yourself, both physical and mental, The Wall will meet that challenge. Bouldering is a problem solving exercise, it's not just about climbing.

How does it work?

Each wall has different coloured grips. Each colour represents a different level of difficulty and your goal is to make it to the top grip and place both hands on that grip for 3 seconds to declare that you have completed that puzzle.

Your heart will be racing and you will definitely challenge yourself physically. I found the more I went the stronger and more confident I became with my abilities and started trying harder puzzles.

But when it comes to the children they have a ball, they just want to keep trying and trying. As we know, kids are fearless and having no fear is a fantastic attribute to have when approaching the top sections! They cater for children's birthday parties and have an instructor on hand to help the children learn and build confidence. Plus. they seem to enjoy it more with a little push from the instructor.

Weekends are obviously the busiest times for going to The Wall, but if you just want to bring the kids and don't want to get involved there is a small cafe at the reception that offer a good cup of coffee and snacks so you can sit back and relax while you're little spider monkey has a great time!

In addition, you can rent the required equipment for a small price. For example, climbing shoes, chalk for your hands to give you better grip, and obviously if you want to improve your bouldering skills you can pay for lessons from one of their very friendly instructors.
