We all been there, we're having a great time, partying into the late hours. It's late when were kicked out of the bars and clubs the City is empty. We don't know what to do, we're drunk, hungry and wobbling down the street looking for the greasiest spot to get our fix of the fastest food possible.

I might not read this post in that kind of state, but if you read it now, you might have it lodged at the very back of your brain when the next drunken food hunt begins. So check out our list below and hopefully you might reduce the severity of your hangover the next morning if you were lucky enough to make any of these spots in time.

Ricks Burgers - Dame Street

Many times I have walked from Copper faced jacks to this tiny and very unique burger spot just because I know it's always open. In my drunken state, I always think "I WANT RICKS BURGER".

So I wobble and zig-zag my way through Dublin City to make my short-lived dream a reality, and although it's hard to say if Ricks burger is any good sober, drunk Ricks burger is probably the most excellent burger you'll ever eat.

Meat crumbles from the bun, the patties huge, juicy inside and a little charred on the outside. Why not add some garlic and cheese fries to set your breath apart from all the other weekend revellers the next morning. Right on the corner of Dame Street and Georges street, Ricks serves a whole manner of different watering holes in the City.

They are well capable of getting orders for drunken customers out quick and fast, and there are plenty of seats that are screwed into the ground, so there is less chance of you falling off your seat and the seat going with you.

Cost: Between €9 to €11 for a meal deal

Location: Dame street, you can find Ricks Burgers here

Open until: 4 am weekdays, 4.30 am Fridays and Saturdays

Iskanders Kebab House - Dame Street

This Kebab house is the cause of many a severe drunken debate between Dublin locals as it's possibly the number one spot for post-drinking sustenance for many people.

I could count on both hands the number of arguments I've been a part of where Iskanders passionately defended as that GOAT of Dublin's late-night take-outs.

It is wonderful. The kebabs are tasty and plentiful and stuffed with your desired meats, crunchy cabbage, sauces and the rest of a kebabs staple ingredients.

It's a 30-second stroll from Ricks Burgers, and when you get to this part of Dublin, you are right in the heart of late-night eats. So if you're with friends and some of you want burgers, some want kebabs you don't need to break to various parts of Dublin. You can quickly go your separate ways for the duration it takes you to eat your fast food then meet back up again after to ensure you get home safely in a taxi together.

Cost: Between: €9 - €12 for a kebab meal

Location: Dame street, you can find Iskanders here

Open until: 4 am every evening

But there is a third option just across the road in Temple bar.

Next!

Rays Pizza - Temple Bar

I genuinely believe that if someone tells you they don't like Pizza, you should never trust them, they don't have a good grasp on their life.

If you are one of the true believers, then Pizza after (or even during and maybe before) drinking is the way of the future.

At Rays Pizza, you have two options. Have a fresh pizza made for you there and then, or grab a pre-made slice which they heat in their oven for you.

Either option in my book is a good option. The Pizza is a thin crust, the base is a real pizza base, not like the lower quality four-star or dominos. I reckon that even at 4 am, the guys in Ray's Pizza still have a lot of love for the goodness they are producing for the drunk masses.

Now don't get me wrong, Rays are not gourmet by any stretch, but it will fill the hole in your stomach, and possibly your heart, allowing you to drunkenly tell the staff you love them simply because of what they gave you on that most glorious of nights.

Cost: €5 - €8 a slice.

Location: Fownes Street Upper, Temple Bar, Find Rays Pizza here.

Open until: 4.30am Wednesday to Saturday.

Zaytoon - Parliament Street, Temple Bar

Zaytoon's I have to say is a place I have eaten sober and drunk. In the heart of Dublin's central (tourist) party spot, Temple Bar, It is a surefire place to quickly get some food with plenty of seating areas for drunken punters to drop chips and kebab sauce on themselves.

This Kebab House is a little different in how they make their kebabs compared to Iskanders, that's not to say they are better. Both are beloved for their middle eastern foods by Dublin locals, but Zaytoon has an excellent quality to their diet.

They freshly bake the bread for their Kebabs, and they never freeze their food, which the owners of Zaytoon's are proud to declare. With well-made food, even though most would consider it to be after pub food, I would be thrilled to grab lunch here from time to time because of the love they have put into it.

There will be queues in the evening but don't let that put you off, they are fast and will get to you quickly so don't waste your time stumbling to find somewhere else, relax and be patient, then enjoy this Persian treat.

Cost: Between €13 and €16 for a meal deal (but worth it for the quality)

Location: Parliament Street, Temple Bar. Find Zaytoon's here

Open Until: 5 am Friday & Saturday, 4 am every other day.

Charlie's Chinese

We can't make this list without a bit of Chinese grub to get your hands on. Charlies is a Dublin institution for late-night revellers. Whoever Charlie is, he delivers to the people what they want.

Chicken balls, you got it. 3 in 1 no problem. Broccoli & Oyster sauce, ok if you want that too. Charlies has it all, and they have it fast.

These guys are not fans of letting you wait, their cooks will get your order out to you quick, even when its busy they want your money and want you fed and gone. Although that might not be what you want for an evening meal, that is not what you are in Charlies for. You want that sustenance, the golden glupey curry sauce injecting into your veins.

Charlies is the latest to stay open on our list, so they will catch all the drunk stragglers that woke up in an alley somewhere off a Dublin street. Its cheap and cheerful and is always there to hit the spot when you need it.

Cost: On average around €10 for a meal

Location: There are a few, but our choice is on Georges street, you can find their place here

Open Until: 6 am on Thursdays and Fridays, 5 am every other day
